  • Ladies March 2021

Without doubt it has been a long and difficult winter. Our What’s app page has kept us all in touch, and with all the “funnies” has provided us with a laugh throughout these tough times, mainly provided by Sheila. Well done everyone.
Now I am sure you are all looking forward to the course reopening on March 29th having a game of golf and most importantly, catching up with our friends at last, something we have all missed. So, get those clubs dusted off and get ready to play.
I am sure Lee & Pete are busy working hard, as always, trying to get our course up to playing conditions. Many thanks to them.
You will have probably guessed that the early medals and fixtures have been cancelled, but rest assured there is still plenty to look forward too subject to Boris’s roadmap restrictions.
I will do my best to get some fun golf organised and hopefully a bite to eat and drink, as soon as we are able, for our overdue pre/post season get together.

On a final note, let’s look forward to a good season of golf in some fine weather and meeting our friends.
Good golfing ladies. Let’s go out and enjoy.

    Lesley Astley
    Lady Captain.

    bigpicHi Ladies
Without doubt it is good to be back on the course enjoying the game we love in the company of good friends, albeit socially distanced.
It is fantastic to see so many ladies out there playing and who are obviously totally in to the Front nine and Back nine eclectic competitions. It certainly gets more difficult the more rounds that you play, to beat your scores. Well Done Lesley you have worked very hard to collect and collate the results so that we can compare our progress with everyone else. You are a star we thank you.
You will soon be made aware of the competitions that will go ahead through July and August. We are hoping that we can play the Noo Clover Trophy event although we may change the format slightly to cope with current requirements. Ladies can also enter and play in the Senior Stableford Cup (SSC). Again keep your eyes open for any new developments.
I am going to run the 9 hole “roll up” on a Wednesday morning when possible. In order to do this I shall need to know who is going to play by the Monday or Tuesday of the week before so that I can book the tee times and allocate players. Not really a roll up but the best we can do at this moment in time.
Now ladies down to the nitty gritty! Our section does need an organiser/ Captain. Although I am trying to keep things going ,alongside the Secretary Kevin, it would be a good year for someone new to learn the ropes. You would have lots of help and would not have to do everything. There are no matches to organise this year and next years are already arranged. I am sure volunteers would come forward to run roll ups and some other events. Thank you Lesley again for your in put and Sandy Moss for The Iron Maiden Trophy.
Please, please, someone come forward and have a go!!!
Enjoy your golf on our beautiful course and I look forward to meeting up for a drink and chat soon
